Communion Night

Tonight we it was communion night at Church.  The first mid-week service of every month is our communion night.  Sometimes it’s appropriate to look at a Communion specific text, however tonight we did not.  We are currently in the Gospel of Mark making our way through chapter 3.   In verse 13 Mark tells us that the Lord Jesus “went into a mountain“.  Luke tells us that he went there and prayed and prayed all night!  The Trinity Communing, fellowship.  What was that prayer time like?  What was it about?  We’ll have to ask that in heaven.  Our time tonight went by so quick, it was amazing.  Anyway, I was struck by the fact that Jesus then called the disciples.  He “called” them.  He didn’t order them, he didn’t coerce them, he gave them a choice and it was a choice as Mark (and only Mark) would tell us, “to be with him“.  That’s exactly what he did with each and every individual tonight only he called them to the communion table.

Maranatha!
