Israel 2010 - Day 2

We started the day in Matthew 5, going over the Beatitudes on the Mount overlooking the Galilee.  What a way to start the day!  We then went to Tabka where Jesus commissioned Peter, James and John, and where Jesus asked Peter to “feed my sheep” (John 21).  We then went to Capernaum for another Study and below is a picture of the remains of a 3rd century synagogue.  What’s significant about this one is, it is built on top the foundation of the 1st century version that we find in the Scriptures.  This would be the place where Jesus healed the man with the withered hand.  We had a great fish lunch on the other side of the lake near Gadera and then we decided to give the group some needed rest.  Most are still suffering from jet-lag, so by tomorrow most will be ready for another full day.  Maranatha!

Sounds like an awesome time. Can’t wait to hear what the troop did next. Please post more pics! Have a great time and maybe the Lord will return before you get back and we’ll meet you over there, that is of course after the reception dinner and Jacob’s trouble. You are all in our prayers.
