Vacation Bible School

This week we’re having our VBS.  I have to say it is one of my favorite weeks of the year.  First, to see so many people in a local Church Body putting in the time and effort to all the planning, decorating and practicing is a blessing.  It is one sign of some health.  Second, it just does something to you to hear those children soooo excited to sing and learn about the Bible and Jesus.  Third, to see assistant Pastors and grown ups acting up in those outfits, no restraints, shields down, completely free.  It’s just a little taste of heaven.  Maranatha!

    Pastor Scott,
I recently found Calvary Chapel on the radio which led me to the website and I truly enjoy listening to your sermons. I mean TRULY ENJOY them.
I live in Lansing (near Ithaca) and my question is…….would there be a church like Calvary Chapel here ? I have stopped going to church 10 years ago because of the false teaching. When I heard Calvary Chapel radio teaching the truth from the scriptures I praised God for it. I beleive the teaching that day was about living together and not married. The main stream churches aren’t teaching about the sin and actually present it as ok for today. I looked on mapquest to see how far Farmington is from Lansing and it’s about an hour and a half. I’m thinking about driving it just so I can have fellowship with believers of truth. Doing online church is okay but I would love to have fellowship. So, is there a church like yours in Ithaca or Lansing vacinity ?

  • Jean,

Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. I haven’t been keeping up with the Blog like I want to. Thanks for your note. The answer to your question is Yes. There is a Calvary in Ithaca and the Pastor there is a friend of mine. There site is http://www.calvarychapelithaca.org. There you will find all their contact information. God bless you. Hope you get strengthened there. If you have any other questions let me know. Maranatha!
